Meet Tim
Tim Sax was born and raised in Edmonton. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta in 1988.
Tim is a senior litigator with more than 30 years’ combined experience in the fields of family law and personal injury. He is an experienced mediator and has, as counsel, successfully resolved countless files through other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Tim has successfully argued cases in the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of Queen’s Bench, and the Alberta Court of Appeal.
Over time, Tim’s client-relationship philosophy has evolved alongside his knowledge of law and legal proceedings. He ultimately believes that the courtroom is a last resort for settling conflict, and that resolution in all matters is best served through conversation, and principled and interest-based negotiation.
Tim is compassionate and empathetic in his approach to the practice of law. He brings a positive, collaborative outlook to the negotiation table. His sincere style – in and out of the courtroom – ensures his clients always feel heard and can be confident in both their own understanding of the law and of knowing that they are being well represented.
Outside the office, Tim gets involved in the community and enjoys spending time with family. He has a strong past track record for volunteer activity that includes serving on boards for both the Lessard Community League Pre-school (as both president and member) and the Brain Care Centre (formerly NABIS). Tim also has a passion for sports, and he has previously helped to coach soccer, Jasper Place baseball, and novice hockey. These days, Tim can be found at the sidelines of many tennis courts across Canada, cheering on his own son.
