FAQs

  • We are proud to be an inclusive law firm that provides legal representation to all people. We serve all clients seeking legal advice and services related to family law and/or mediation.

In other words, yes! We are happy to be of service.

  • Call us! We offer all our prospective clients a free 30-minute consultation session. We will use this time to discuss your situation and requirements, get to know each other and see if we are a good fit for the legal support you need.

Our introductory session with you is hassle free, meaning you do not have to commit to hiring our services until you are ready. We also understand that not everyone can meet during regular business hours. When you call, we will set up a time that best suits your schedule.

  • You should consider what kind of help or advice you are looking for, as well as any uncertainties you may have about the legal process or terminology. Ask about anything you are not clear on.

For our initial consultation, we encourage you to come prepared with a list of questions. We will discuss your concerns, figure out what you need and get you more comfortable with navigating the legal process. In addition to covering your questions, we will ask our own that will help us come to an agreement on the best course of action for you and your family.

  • Time and cost for services vary from case to case, depending on complexity to achieve final resolution. Sometimes, you may only need help to complete a few documents. Other times, it can take much more.

Our fees are billed on an hourly rate, which we will cover with you during our initial consultation. We will also cover expected time commitments and other requirements. If you choose to engage our services, you will be required to complete a retainer agreement.

Rest assured that, before hiring our services, you will know what to expect.

  • A retainer is a formal contract that includes a lump-sum payment, held in trust, which we require in advance on all files to guarantee our mutual commitment to the agreed-to services. We will provide regular billing that outlines our progress, but we will use the retainer fund to draw our fees and costs from as we work on your file. Once these funds are depleted, if the file is still ongoing for any reason, you would be required to top up the retainer payment.

  • In addition to the completed questionnaire and a form of payment for the initial retainer (should you wish to proceed with our services), you’re encouraged to also bring:

    • Marriage Certificate

    • Driver’s license / photo ID

    • A photo of your spouse (for service purposes)

    • Financial information depending on your legal needs
